HireLogic is equipment hire software built for independent hire businesses that want their system in the browser rather than on a server in the office.
Most people who compare the two are not shopping for a longer feature list. They are weighing up three practical things, which is exactly why this page is scoped to those three and nothing else.
The first is where the software runs. If your current system needs a Windows machine acting as a data server and a SQL Server licence behind it, that is an IT job and an IT cost before anyone takes a booking. HireLogic has neither: it is cloud software, so a browser and an internet connection is the whole requirement, and the same system works at the counter, in the yard and on a phone.
The second is knowing the price before you talk to anyone. Our pricing page publishes the base package, the per-user price, the module prices and the setup fee, and you can add them up yourself. Who inspHire, Klipboard and onRent are
The brand basics, because the names have all changed recently
If you are comparing systems right now, the naming is genuinely confusing, so here is the shape of it — all of it from their own published pages.
inspHire has been in the hire software market since 1997 and describes itself as having led the way in hire software design since then. Its site lists Nottingham as head office alongside Gouda, Houston, Perth and Johannesburg. It is a Kerridge Commercial Systems company.
Kerridge Commercial Systems announced in 2025 that it was rebranding as Klipboard, rolling out globally in phases; the legal entity remains Kerridge Commercial Systems Ltd, trading as Klipboard. Both insphire.com and the onRent site now carry that rebrand notice.
The products are being renamed under an OnRent banner. Klipboard states that OnRent Office was formerly known as inspHire Office, and its hire pages list OnRent Go, OnRent Office, OnRent One — marketed as an enterprise system — and OnRent Events. onRent itself is a separate cloud product rather than an edition of the installed ones: their site describes it as cloud-based, accessible on any device, and designed for small to medium businesses looking to grow, integrating with Xero, Sage Business Cloud, QuickBooks Online or Exact Online.
Where their own pages do not state something, this page does not either. We have not attributed the older names of every product in the new OnRent line-up, because only the OnRent Office lineage is stated on their own site, and we have left out headline customer and user counts entirely because the figures on their own pages differ from one another.
How we sourced this comparison
Last verified: 2026-07-26. Every claim in the right-hand column of the table came from inspHire's, onRent's or Klipboard's own websites, published pricing page, product pages, system-requirements page or published support handbook, read on that date. No review sites, no trade press, no inference.
We compare three dimensions and stop there: deployment, pricing model and onboarding. We do not put feature lists side by side, because their range spans several products and editions and a fair feature comparison would need to name which product and which edition for every line — which is where comparisons of this kind usually stop being accurate.
Two things we are deliberately careful about. Their products are described differently in different places: Klipboard markets OnRent Office as a cloud platform, while the live system-requirements page for the same product specifies installed Windows and Microsoft SQL Server software. This page states both, and does not claim their software is unavailable in the cloud. And because their pages are actively moving during the Klipboard rebrand, the verification date above is the honest one — not a rolling "today".

The legal entity remains Kerridge Commercial Systems Ltd, trading as Klipboard, and both insphire.com and the onRent site carry the rebrand notice. So yes — if you are looking at inspHire, you are looking at Klipboard.
What is OnRent Go, and how is it different from inspHire Office?
The naming is genuinely confusing, so here is only what their own pages state. onRent is the cloud product sold at onrent-app.insphire.com — cloud-based, usable on any device, aimed at small to medium businesses, with a published Core price and a free trial. OnRent Go is the cloud hire product listed on klipboard.com, which is demo-led with no published price. onRent's own help centre is titled "OnRent Go Help Center", so the names are clearly converging, but as at 2026-07-26 neither site spelled out the relationship — so this page takes each claim only from the page it appears on. inspHire Office is different again: Klipboard states OnRent Office was formerly known as inspHire Office, and its published system requirements specify installed Microsoft Windows software with Microsoft SQL Server.
Is HireLogic a Klipboard alternative as well as an inspHire alternative?
For its hire software, yes — but Klipboard is bigger than that. Klipboard is the parent brand: Kerridge Commercial Systems rebranded as Klipboard, and it sells software across several other industries too, including wholesale distribution, automotive and field service, which this page does not compare against. Its hire software products are marketed under the OnRent name — OnRent Go, OnRent Office (which Klipboard states was formerly inspHire Office), OnRent One and OnRent Events. If you are evaluating any of those under the Klipboard name, this comparison applies; if you are looking at one of Klipboard's other product lines, it does not.

Can I move my data from inspHire to HireLogic?
Yes. Products come in through an import template — we work with your export in whatever format it arrives and review it before anything is loaded, which is where mapping problems get caught. Customer records can usually be pulled straight from Xero or Sage through the accounting integration rather than exported and cleaned separately. Historic transactions are rarely worth migrating in full; a clean start on accurate product and customer data is almost always the right call, with specific records handled selectively where compliance needs them.

Why does this page not compare features?
