HireLogic vs HireTrack NX: the modern alternative
HireTrack NX targets entertainment hire and production companies, with pricing available only through an enquiry. HireLogic is one browser-based product for independent equipment hire businesses, with every price published and guided onboarding included.
In short
Choose HireLogic if you want one browser product, published monthly pricing and a system shaped around independent tool and equipment hire. HireTrack NX targets entertainment production, uses concurrent-user licensing and publishes no prices, so the package and total cost have to be established through an enquiry.
The tables compare what Navigator Systems publishes about HireTrack NX and identify the pricing, packaging and payment details its public materials do not establish.
HireLogic vs HireTrack NX, side by side
Nine practical differences in pricing, deployment, fit and implementation, checked against HireTrack NX's own product pages and manuals.
Pricing visibility
HireLogic
Everything is published: £99 a month for the base package including 2 users, £15 a month per extra user, £25 a month per optional module and a one-time £250 website setup fee. Prices exclude VAT.
HireTrack NX
Navigator Systems asks prospective buyers to enquire for pricing. No licence, subscription, hosting, cloud or training figure or range was published on its product pages as of 12 August 2026.
License and commitment
HireLogic
One monthly subscription with no long-term contract. Cancel at any time.
HireTrack NX
A choice of perpetual or monthly subscription licences. The subscription includes software, updates and technical support and stops working if it is not renewed. A perpetual licence can keep running on the purchased version, with a separate monthly or annual update-and-support subscription.
How users are counted
HireLogic
The base package includes 2 users; each additional user is £15 a month.
HireTrack NX
Concurrent-user licensing: any number of people can have accounts and the client can be installed on any number of computers, but only the licensed number can connect at once. Navigator Systems does not publish the price per concurrent user.
Deployment
HireLogic
One cloud product running in the browser on any connected device. There is no server or desktop client for the customer to manage.
HireTrack NX
Three choices: an on-site Windows client and server, a Navigator-hosted Windows system reached through its remote application or remote desktop, or a subscription cloud system that runs in a web browser. HireTrack NX is not installed-only, but buyers need to choose a deployment model.
Business fit
HireLogic
Independent tool and equipment hire businesses, with counter, yard, workshop and delivery workflows.
HireTrack NX
Entertainment hire and production businesses. Navigator Systems names sound, lighting, rigging, audio visual and stage companies, and positions HireTrack NX for structured medium-to-large organisations with defined departments, multi-user and multi-site needs.
Operational scope
HireLogic
Equipment bookings, availability, hire contracts, invoicing and transport in the base product, with optional workshop and online-booking modules.
HireTrack NX
Equipment hire combined with production-management workflows. Navigator does not publish feature-level prices, and each additional financial site requires an additional licence.
Interface and ease of use
HireLogic
Our claim, so treat it as ours: HireLogic is a modern web application with clean, uncluttered screens and familiar browser interactions, designed to be picked up without training by counter, yard and office staff.
HireTrack NX
Navigator Systems describes the main client as a Windows application and its own product comparison lists HireTrack NX as a multiple-window interface. Its cloud option presents HireTrack NX in a browser, while hosted deployments present the Windows client remotely. In our view, that desktop-style interface and broader system make HireTrack NX feel more dated and harder to learn than HireLogic.
Evaluation and setup
HireLogic
A demo using your own products and workflows, or start entering products and customers before the team follows up. A straightforward product list can be live in under 48 hours.
HireTrack NX
An online demonstration and a fully functioning, time-limited downloadable trial. The first-user guide sets out configuration for administrators, email, permissions, data imports, accounts, crew and vehicles; Navigator Systems also offers a turnkey implementation. No implementation timetable is published.
Training and support
HireLogic
Onboarding, training and support by phone, email or live chat are included in the monthly subscription.
HireTrack NX
The product comparison says one year of web, email and telephone support is included with HireTrack NX. On-site and remote training are offered separately, and trained customers are offered a discount on later support renewals. Training prices are not published.

Looking for a HireTrack alternative? Start with fit, then compare features
HireLogic is equipment hire software for independent businesses that want the core hire workflow in one browser product, without choosing a server or licensing model.
Navigator Systems publishes HireTrack NX as entertainment hire and production management software for sound, lighting, rigging, audio visual and stage businesses. Its product guide positions it for structured organisations where departments and staff have distinct roles.
HireLogic is purpose-built for independent tool and equipment hire businesses. Its focus is the everyday path from Booking to Hire Contract, equipment availability, delivery or collection, invoicing, payments and workshop work.
Deployment is another practical difference. HireLogic is one cloud product in the browser. HireTrack NX requires buyers to choose an on-site Windows client and server, a Navigator-hosted Windows environment or its subscription cloud system before the public pages reveal a price.
Pricing is the difference you can establish before a demo. HireLogic publishes £99 a month including 2 users, £15 per extra user and £25 per optional module, with no long-term contract. HireTrack NX publishes its concurrent-user model and its perpetual-versus-subscription choices, but no figures, so a sales enquiry is required before you can compare the total at your team size.
If you reached HireLogic by searching for “hire track software,” the feature table below separates the HireTrack NX brand from the generic task of tracking hire equipment and shows the operational overlap directly.
- One browser-based product, with no server or deployment decision
- Published pricing from £99 a month including 2 users
- Monthly agreement with no long-term contract
- Built around tool and equipment hire workflows
- Guided data import, training and support included
- Live in under 48 hours for a straightforward product list

Last verified: 12 August 2026. HireTrack NX cells come from Navigator Systems' current product overview, product comparison, client manual and release notes. They establish that Navigator publishes each capability, not that every deployment includes it at one price; complete HireTrack NX packaging and feature prices are not public.
Who HireTrack NX is built for
The product positioning, in Navigator Systems' own words
Navigator Systems says it released the first Windows-based HireTrack product for the entertainment hire industry in 1995. HireTrack NX is the current evolution of that line and sits alongside RentalDesk NX, a separate product aimed at smaller and start-up production businesses.
The company describes HireTrack NX as the option for medium-to-large, structured organisations, while also saying it can suit a company of any size that takes a holistic approach. Its public pages do not show how the full feature set is packaged or priced.
Navigator Systems is based in England, but HireTrack is not UK-only. Its official history reports installations at hundreds of sites in more than 20 countries, and the company publishes a US operation, US contact details and a long-serving US deployment and training lead.
Cloud needs a precise definition here. HireTrack NX can run in a browser through Navigator Systems' cloud service, so it would be wrong to call it installed-only. It can also be deployed as a Windows client/server system on the customer's network or hosted on Navigator Systems' servers and reached remotely. Navigator Systems says its cloud deployment uses subscription licensing; its public page does not set out every licence-and-deployment combination available for the other two routes.
Navigator Systems offers a fully functioning time-limited trial, online demonstrations, a configurable turnkey implementation, on-site training and remote training. Its public manuals also document importing equipment and address data. What its pages do not publish is the cost of those choices or a typical time to go live.
How we sourced this comparison
Last verified: 12 August 2026. Every objective claim about HireTrack NX came from Navigator Systems' own live pages: the HireTrack NX overview, its product comparison, licensing and deployment guide, training page, support portal and current client manual. No review site or third-party comparison supplies a table cell.
We have kept the distinctions Navigator Systems makes. A hosted HireTrack NX system remotely presents the Windows client; its cloud system runs in a browser. Perpetual and subscription licensing have the same functionality, but different renewal and support arrangements. RentalDesk NX is a separate product and its features are not attributed to HireTrack NX.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is HireTrack NX cloud-based?
It can be. Navigator Systems publishes three deployment models: an on-site Windows client/server installation, a hosted Windows system reached through its remote application or remote desktop, and a subscription cloud system that runs in a web browser. HireLogic is cloud only and always runs in the browser.
How much does HireTrack NX cost compared with HireLogic?
HireLogic publishes its full UK price list: £99 a month including 2 users, £15 a month per extra user and £25 a month per optional module, plus a one-time £250 setup fee for the website module. Prices exclude VAT and there is no long-term contract.
Navigator Systems publishes no HireTrack NX price or range. It asks buyers to enquire for pricing and choose between perpetual or monthly subscription licensing, concurrent-user quantities and on-site, hosted or cloud deployment. That was still the published position on 12 August 2026.
Does HireTrack NX offer a trial?
Yes. Navigator Systems says it provides a fully functioning, time-limited downloadable trial after you submit the enquiry form, as well as an online demonstration. Its page does not state whether the trial is free. HireLogic offers a guided demo using your own products and workflows rather than a downloadable trial.
What is the difference between HireTrack NX subscription and perpetual licences?
Navigator Systems says both licence types provide the same functionality. A subscription is paid monthly, includes updates and technical support, and stops working if it is not renewed. A perpetual licence is bought up front and can keep running on the purchased version; keeping updates and support current requires a separate monthly or annual subscription. Prices for either route are not published.
Is HireTrack NX only for event and AV hire?
Navigator Systems describes it as entertainment equipment hire and production management software and names sound, lighting, rigging, audio visual and stage businesses. Its equipment, invoicing and stock functions are broader than any one production niche, but production work is its stated centre of gravity. HireLogic is built specifically for independent tool and equipment hire businesses.
Can I move my data from HireTrack NX to HireLogic?
Yes, provided HireTrack NX can supply the records in a usable export. We start with products, pricing and customers, review the files before importing them and agree which open or historic records need to move. Customer records can often come through Xero or Sage instead. We recommend keeping a complete export and parallel-running before cutover.
Which is better, HireLogic or HireTrack NX?
For an independent tool or equipment hire business that wants one browser product, published UK pricing, no long-term contract and guided onboarding, we recommend HireLogic. HireTrack NX targets entertainment production, and its complete price, packaging and implementation route cannot be evaluated from its public pages alone.
Does HireTrack NX include training and support?
Its product comparison says one year of web, email and telephone support is included with HireTrack NX. Subscription licensing includes updates and technical support, while perpetual customers need a separate update-and-support subscription after the included period. Navigator Systems offers on-site and remote training, but does not publish the training price. HireLogic includes onboarding, training and ongoing support in its monthly subscription.
How current is this HireTrack comparison?
Every HireTrack NX claim was checked on Navigator Systems' own published pages on 12 August 2026. Pricing, packaging and product details can change without notice, so the verification date appears below the table. If you find something that has changed, tell us and we will update it.
